Space Artist - Award-Winning Author - Expert Astronomy Speaker

David A. Aguilar is a naturalist, astronomer, author and space artist. His expertise lies in presenting the fascinating connections between the universe and ourselves.

He is the award-winning author and illustrator of seven National Geographic books including "ALIEN WORLDS";  "13 PLANETS";  and "SPACE ENCYCLOPEDIA". His next book, "COSMIC CATASTROPHES" will be published by Random House in June 2016.

Long before satellites would journey to planets and deep-space telescopes would photograph distant galaxies, there was an artist whose dazzling visions of planets and stars would capture the imagination of all who beheld them. Before that, he was an architect working on projects like the Chrysler Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. He would later become a matte painter in Hollywood working on films like "Citizen Kane" and "Destination Moon". His name was Chesley Bonestell.

David A. Aguilar’s space artwork has been deeply influenced by the man known as this "father of space art". He appears as onscreen commentator to share his insights about knowing and visiting with Chesley at his studio in Carmel, CA. CATCH this amazing film now screening at:
